1) Bungee Shock Absorber. The inner core is made up of an elastic material, which allows the device to expand and contract during use, typically for 4.5ft. to 6ft.
2) Retractables. Retractables often utilize either an internal or external deceleration device. Retractables utilize centrifugal force. Centrifugal force is the experience of the inertia or an object moving in circular motion, causing it to move away from the center.
3) Internal Shock Pack. This system utilizes an inner core and an outer sheathing. The inner core is designed whereas the webbing material is stitched in a variety of specific locations which gives the lanyard a scrunch type of appearance. As the lanyard is exposed to a fall, the stitching tears away which helps decelerate the person falling.
4) Shock Pack. The Shock Pack is made up of tear away webbing that is interwoven and sewn into two places. As the device is engaged, the two sewn patterns tear away the interwoven material and decelerate the energy generated in the fall and as a result slowing the user down.
